This trip was a first trip in for two out of four of us, and we explored the upper and right hand (looking down on the map) sections of the tunnels. Nothing really happened, and we did not attempt at more filming this time, although we are going to do that NEXT time! We promise! Although definitely hotter than the regions we have been sticking to in the past, it was pleasant, although one member of the trip got chapped lips... OH NO! WHAT WILL WE DO!?!?!
The hotter atmosphere made it difficult to traverse the metal bridges that cover pipes that intersect the tunnels, but we used my sweatshirt as a sort of hot pot handle for them. This section has a lot more intersections of pipes than the G,T area that I'm used to, and the branches that lead to buildings are longer and less orderly. Also, they have an annoying tendency to be small and cramped. Trying to move around inches from a hot steam pipe can be a pain in the ass.
Although it is PSU Underground policy to not tell you how to get in, I will tell you that we lifted up a grate that we unlocked and sent only one person in. We then ran down and met him at another entrance that wasn't so heavy that we could not put it back afterwards, and he unlocked the bolt from the inside.
When we went to leave, we poped up in the middle of a bunch of people, and freaked them out.. a lot! It was kinda fun, though. Oh yea, we came out next to the obelisk, if you know where that is.
The two new members both raved about the experiance, and are roaring to go again!
